Uganda
Exploring its savannas and primary forests, we follow the Western Rift Valley, whose great lakes and mountains form the border with neighboring Congo to the west. Traditional African wildlife is well represented at Murchison Falls: elephants, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, buffalo, lions, leopards, hyenas, and numerous antelopes, including the Ugandan kob, eland, hartebeest, impala, oribi, and bushbuck. Alongside this classic fauna, we search for animals specific to Uganda, which is home to 14 primate species, including the mountain gorilla, Schweinfurth's chimpanzee, and numerous guenons, mangabeys, and colobus monkeys. as well as numerous
birds such as the crowned crane, the country's emblem, the grey turaco, Ross's turaco and giant turaco, the shoebill stork, the saddle bill, parakeets, hornbills and rollers in abundance, etc. because Uganda benefits from the presence of East African species and also some West African species from the neighboring Virunga and Ituri forests of the Congo (1060 species recorded in this country, a number to be compared to the world population of 11,000 bird species!).
